Born from a Conviction
Luchi Advocate Foundation was created out of the conviction that justice should not be a privilege and compassion should not be selective. As a legal practitioner, Founder Oluchi Vivian Uche, Esq., AICMC, encountered a fundamental truth: knowing that a right exists is not the same as being able to exercise it.
LAF was established to bridge that gap: between people and the rights, opportunities, and support they deserve. Through legal awareness, rights advocacy, humanitarian outreach, educational support, vocational empowerment, and pro bono legal assistance, we are building a movement rooted in practical compassion.

The law must not live only in books, courtrooms, and legal chambers. It must reach the person who does not know a right exists, the young person who needs an opportunity, and the vulnerable person who simply needs someone to say, "You matter." That conviction is what became Luchi Advocate Foundation.

Luchi Advocate Foundation is officially registered (RC9710515) in Abuja, FCT, Nigeria
LAF is officially introduced and its logo unveiled: Protecting Rights, Spreading Smiles
First prison outreach at Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre: meals, vocational tools and welfare items for hundreds of inmates, plus a pledge of pro bono legal support
"Unlocking Potentials Behind Bars" outreach at Suleja Correctional Centre; Chief Ogwu James Onoja, SAN accepts to serve as Patron two days later
Skilled ex-inmates empowered with sewing machines, cosmetology starter packs and start-up materials at Gwagwalada

Programs That Transform
Our six flagship programmes turn advocacy into action, from the courtroom to the community.
Justice & Human Rights Advocacy
Promoting legal awareness, human rights, and access to justice: taking legal knowledge beyond the courtroom through community sensitization, rights education, advocacy, and pro bono case support for vulnerable persons.
Beyond the Walls Initiative
Unlocking potential behind bars. Our correctional centre outreach programme delivers humanitarian assistance, vocational training, legal awareness, and pro bono legal support to persons deprived of liberty, because rehabilitation requires dignity, hope, and opportunity.
Knowledge for Empowerment Initiative (LAF-KEI)
Making legal and civic knowledge accessible to everyone through seminars, school and community sensitization, publications, and workshops, while supporting bright indigent students. An informed person is an empowered person.
Vocational & Economic Empowerment
Helping people acquire skills, build enterprises, and create sustainable livelihoods: from sewing machines and soap-making materials for inmates to starter packs for ex-inmates re-entering society.
LAF Care
Our humanitarian arm, providing food, essential supplies, and practical welfare support to vulnerable people and communities facing hardship, because compassion becomes meaningful when it meets an actual need.
Community Impact Initiative
Partnering with communities, professionals, and stakeholders, including the Nigerian Correctional Service, FCT Command, to identify social challenges and build sustainable, community-led interventions that create measurable, lasting change.

Purpose Over Despair
Despite the limitations of incarceration at the Suleja Correctional Centre, Maryam refused to let her circumstances define her. She dedicated her time to equipping fellow inmates with valuable vocational skills and mentoring them, proving that true transformation begins from within. LAF was honoured to be invited to her send-forth ceremony on 5 June 2026, and her story is the reason we returned to Suleja a month later for our "Unlocking Potentials Behind Bars" outreach.
Freedom Is Only the Beginning
On 8 July 2026, in collaboration with the FCT Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service, LAF empowered three skilled ex-inmates with sewing machines, cosmetology starter packs, soap and disinfectant production materials and financial support. These are more than tools: they are instruments of hope and a second chance, helping people who have served their time to build sustainable livelihoods and confidently reintegrate into society.
Against the Odds
On 13 August 2026 more than 240 inmates were awarded Trade Test Certificates in hairdressing, soap and disinfectant making, tailoring, solar panel installation and other trades. The sewing machines, fabrics and chemicals LAF donated to the centre were put to use in their training: living proof that rehabilitation begins where compassion meets opportunity.
